Coming from a family where his father was a champion Wrestler in a country where Wrestling is the national sport and having two older brothers and one younger brother, also wrestlers, Farzad’s sporting options were pretty much Wrestling and Wrestling.
Farzad started Wrestling at the age of 12 under the legendary Australian Coach Sam Parker at his gym which was at the time located in Footscray. Parker’s gym has proven to be a factory for Wrestling Champions, having produced the majority of Australian Champions and team representatives for the last few decades.
Aside from his Junior Championships , he has been the Australian Senior Champion from 2005 to 2010, winning best wrestler awards in 2006 and 2007. His proudest achievement was his ranking 10th in the world in 2006, a huge achievement for Australian Wrestling. In 2010 Farzad represented Australian at the Commonwealth Games.
His strength as a coach comes from his vast arsenal of techniques and his ability to teach a variety of Students. He has also adapted the no-nonsense, hard work coaching style of his mentor and always reminds the class of the importance of getting very fit, strong and tough as well as technical.
He is truly committed to helping Kaizen Fitness students achieve their full potential and help them achieve all their goals, be it competition (Wrestling, BJJ or MMA) or just to become the fittest they can be!
